- Choose the right cleaning method: many braces maintain the appliance by washing with water and brushing with toothpaste. However, this concept is wrong. The key to thorough cleaning is sterilization. Most of the orthodontic maintainers are similar to dentures in material, and there are many invisible holes on the surface. Therefore, the denture cleaner sold in the market is used to thoroughly clean the holes through immersion, and at the same time clean the dead angle and the attached tartar. The disposable maintainer is also the same. Although it will be replaced regularly, daily cleaning is still indispensable. When it is removed and not used, the denture cleaner can be used to keep the maintainer clean. Besides thoroughly cleaning the hard to clean dead corners and attached tartar, it can also be sterilized to avoid the accumulation of plaque and calculus, and it is not easy to turn yellow, so it is more beautiful to wear.
Correct use of cleaning 3 steps: 1. Cleaning 2. Bubble 3. Flushing.
(1) . clean – first wash off the food residue with tap water or warm water.
(2) . blister – place the orthodontic maintainer in a container of tap or warm water, put in the denture cleaner, and soak for at least 5 to 15 minutes.
(3) . rinse – rinse with clean water before wearing the corrective maintainer.
In addition, if there is stone deposit on the maintainer, soak the denture and clean the ingot for one night, then wash the dirt with soft toothbrush and water.
